Collection and Treatment

As a producer responsibility organisation that manages used batteries, Electrão is responsible for their proper treatment. It is also responsible for promoting awareness campaigns so that citizens correctly send this type of waste for recycling.

Improperly disposed of batteries are a risk to health and the environment. Due to their composition, which contains heavy and toxic metals such as cadmium, recycling is essential, as it prevents these substances from passing into the environment and allows the recovery of almost 100% of the materials.

The collection of batteries at Electrão network sites is organized into 2 types.
